CEO & Team Principal at Audi Revolut F1® Team

Mattia Binotto, one of Formula 1®’s most experienced leaders, began his career at Scuderia Ferrari in 1995 as an engineer in the engine department, contributing to Michael Schumacher’s championship dominance. His technical precision and collaborative leadership saw him rise steadily within the organisation.

As Ferrari evolved through the V10, V8, and V6 hybrid eras, Binotto’s role grew, and he was appointed Technical Director of Chassis and Power Unit in 2016. Under his guidance, he integrated the team’s technical structure, helping Ferrari return to consistent race-winning form. In 2019, Binotto was appointed Team Principal, steering the organisation through major regulatory transitions and structural modernisation.

Binotto joined the team, then Sauber, in 2024 as Head of Audi F1 Project, where he shaped the strategic and technical foundations for the entry of Audi into Formula 1® as a factory team. In this role, he was responsible for ensuring seamless alignment between the power unit operations in Neuburg and the chassis headquarters in Hinwil, as well as the facilities in Bicester.

In April 2026, he assumed the role of CEO & Team Principal of Audi Revolut F1® Team, leading the organisation's strategic direction while overseeing all aspects of the team's sporting, technical and operational activities to drive its long-term competitive ambitions.

His extensive top-team experience and engineering authority are a central driving force behind the team’s long-term goals.
