Victory for Felbermayr, podium for Slater in strong season start
Audi Development Programme drivers Emma Felbermayr and Freddie Slater enjoyed a busy and successful start to the season, with strong weekends across their respective campaigns. Slater, stepping up to Formula 3, secured his maiden podium in Melbourne, while Felbermayr – now in her second year in F1 Academy – claimed both a race win and a podium in Shanghai. With a prolonged break in the racing calendar ahead, both drivers will now focus on training and preparation to build on this early momentum when competition resumes later this spring.

2026 Japanese Grand Prix - Sunday
Audi Revolut F1 Team finished just over one second away from a point as Nico Hulkenberg charged to P11 in a Japanese Grand Prix that delivered battles from lights to flag. The German recovered from 19th in the opening stages, and his fightback ended with him catching up the final point-scoring position, only for the laps to run out before an attack could be made. On the other side of the garage, Gabriel Bortoleto also had a busy afternoon, battling in the midfield but ultimately crossing the line in P13.

2026 Japanese Grand Prix - Saturday
Audi Revolut F1 Team returned to Q3 with a positive performance in qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix. The team carried its form from solid performances earlier in the weekend as Gabriel Bortoleto once again claimed a spot in the top ten, setting the ninth fastest time overall. Team-mate, Nico Hulkenberg, went close from joining Gabriel in the final segment of qualifying but missed the cut by a whisker, and will line up in 13th place on the grid. The result, paired with the good pace shown throughout the three practice sessions, gives confidence to the team ahead of what promises to be a tightly contested race here in Suzuka.

2026 Japanese Grand Prix - Friday
Audi Revolut F1 Team completed a busy day of practice in Suzuka, with the team competing for places near the front of the midfield again. In the first two on-track sessions for this weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix, Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto worked through the testing programme, working to find the ideal setup to tackle the challenging Suzuka track: despite a technical issue, which forced a precautionary gearbox change and sidelined Gabriel for part of FP2 before the team could get him back on track, the data collected from the two hours of action will inform the engineers; both trackside and back at base, as the team prepares for tomorrow’s Qualifying session.

Audi Revolut F1 Team went one place away from scoring back-to-back points, as Nico Hulkenberg finished in 11th place at the Chinese Grand Prix. It was a gritty performance from the German, who started just outside the top ten and fought for a place in the points from start to finish: ultimately, a wheelgun issue at his pit stop meant he couldn’t complete his comeback for what would have been a deserved reward.

Audi Revolut F1 Team firmly claimed a stake in the midfield battle with a solid performance in Qualifying for the Chinese Grand Prix, with Nico Hulkenberg setting the 11th fastest time of the session. The German driver missed out on a spot in Q3 for the tiniest of margins, 0.002s, but will at least have the consolation of an additional set of tyres for tomorrow’s race. Team-mate, Gabriel Bortoleto, was 16th at the end of Q2 after his final attempt, in which he was improving his time, came to nought with an off-track moment at the final corner.

Audi Revolut F1 Team was on the cusp of a place in Sprint Qualifying 3 as competitive action for the Chinese Grand Prix kicked off in earnest in Shanghai. In the session to set the grid for tomorrow morning’s Sprint, Nico Hulkenberg was 0.015s away from a spot in the top ten, closing with the 11th fastest time. Team-mate, Gabriel Bortoleto, was 14th, with both cars progressing solidly from the first segment of the session and steadily in the midfield mix.

2026 Chinese Grand Prix: Preview
Audi Revolut F1 Team heads to Shanghai for the second round of the FIA Formula One Championship. Just days on from its positive debut at the season-opener in Melbourne, where Gabriel Bortoleto’s ninth-place finish secured the first points of the team’s Formula 1 journey, the team aims to make a further step forward, having analysed the data from the first race weekend of the season. The Chinese Grand Prix will host the first Sprint weekend of the season, offering another important opportunity for the team to continue learning and making progress with its 2026 challenger, the R26.
